One Manjano

One Manjano

Much like the collection's essence, the name One Manjano celebrates Africa’s craftsmanship and handmade beauty. From Swahili, “One Manjano” translates directly to “One Yellow” — it means no two pieces are identical.

Threaded through my explorations of dress & gender in androgynous silhouettes, this collection is inspired by a postcard I found online of a Swahili woman in Zanzibar in the 1900s by photographer Pereira de Lord.
